Preparing for your trip
Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed walking weekend or a more demanding running adventure, arriving well prepared helps ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Some items on this list are mandatory (noted as Essential) and are required for participant safety, particularly in changeable weather conditions. Other items are simply recommended to help you make the most of your trip.

Essential Clothing
Moisture-wicking running top
Running shorts or leggings
Comfortable running socks
Trail running shoes with suitable grip and tread for uneven terrain
Essentials to Carry
Fully charged mobile phone, including the contact details for your Run Leader and Event Director
Waterproof phone case or dry bag
Any personal medication required during the day (for example inhalers or allergy medication)
Optional Extras
Lightweight running poles can be useful on longer runs or walks
A fitness watch can be a really helpful tool for tracking your route and performance, great for training and motivation
For Longer Distance Routes
(15km distance or above)
Running pack or vest (recommended maximum 12 litres)
Soft flasks, hydration bladder, or water bottle
Energy snacks or nutrition
Emergency whistle (sometimes built into running packs)
Weather & Seasonal Kit
Depending on the conditions and time of year, you may also require:
Lightweight waterproof jacket
Warm layer or mid-layer
Hat and gloves
Sun hat or cap
Sunscreen and hydration salts/electrolytes
Waterproof bags or dry bags for spare kit and valuables
