Frequently Asked Questions

Before you book…

  • Our running and walking trips are designed for people who enjoy the outdoors, good company, and exploring on foot. Some weekends are more relaxed and sociable, whilst others are aimed at experienced walkers or runners looking for a bigger challenge.

  • Not necessarily. Each trip includes guidance on distance, pace, terrain, and difficulty so you can choose an experience suited to your fitness and experience level.

  • This varies by trip and is details on the trip itinerary, but typically includes accommodation, guided routes, selected meals, luggage transfers where stated, and full itinerary planning. Details for each trip can be found on the individual trip pages.

  • A full recommended kit list is provided before your trip. Some items are mandatory for safety, particularly during remote or changeable weather conditions. For our self-guided trips, we provide a helpful suggested packing list.

  • Our walking and running weekends are led by experienced guides and group leaders familiar with the routes and local area.

Our Family Adventures are typically self-guided.

  • Some Stridely guided trips may be suitable for younger participants when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you are hoping to join a trip with someone under the age of 16, please get in touch before booking so we can advise on suitability, distances, and route conditions.

Participants aged 16 and over may book directly, but those under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to take part.

For younger participants, safety, fitness, experience, and enjoyment are our priority, and all under 16s must be accompanied throughout the trip by a parent or legal guardian and be capable of comfortably completing the planned distances and terrain.

If you are unsure whether a trip is suitable, we are always happy to help advise.

For our Family self-guided trips, there’s no minimum age limit. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss in more detail. We can adjust all our self-guided trips to cater for individual requirements - just ask!

  • Some trips are specifically designed to be dog-friendly. These will be clearly marked on the website. Please contact us for more information on upcoming dog-friendly trips.

  • Absolutely. Many guests join our running and walking trips solo, and our trips are designed to feel welcoming, relaxed, and sociable.

  • Most Stridely trips are based on twin room sharing basis. If you would prefer your own room, please let us know when booking. Where available, single occupancy rooms can usually be arranged for an additional supplement.

For shared accommodation, rooms are allocated on a same-gender basis unless travelling together as part of a private booking. Solo travellers are very welcome, and a private room is not required in order to join a Stridely trip.

  • We operate in the outdoors and weather conditions can change quickly. Routes or itineraries may occasionally be adapted for safety and comfort. Take a look at the Kit List and come prepared for the weather!

  • Each trip includes an indication of expected daily distance, terrain, and pace. If you are unsure whether a trip is suitable, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.

Trips typically offer a range of groups based on ability and pace. At the time of booking we’ll ask you a few questions about your experience and pace to help organise groups. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss in more detail.

  • Where possible, yes. Please let us know about any dietary requirements or allergies when booking.

  • Simply select your chosen trip through the website and follow the booking instructions. If you have any questions before booking, feel free to contact us.

  • Details of our cancellation terms can be found within our Booking Terms & Conditions page.

  • For UK-based walking and running adventures, insurance is not essential, but it is recommended.

Many participants choose to arrange cover through a sports accident or outdoor activity insurance policy, particularly for trail running, or more remote itineraries.

We recommend ensuring you have appropriate cover for cancellation, illness or injury, personal belongings, and the activities included within your chosen trip.

As every participant’s circumstances are different, please ensure any insurance arranged is suitable for your own needs and the type of trip you are joining.

  • We’re always happy to help. Please get in touch and we’ll do our best to answer any questions before you book. Phone us or email at: hello@stridely.co.uk
