  • Hike past historic landmarks including hillforts, follies, and burial mounds

  • Enjoy excellent lunch stops featuring local produce

  • Overnight in a charming market town full of independent shops and cafes

  • Stunning views from Coomb Hill, Beacon Hill, Ashridge Forest, and Ivinghoe Beacon

Daily Summary:

  • Day 1: Begin with a hike to Coomb Hill, the highest point in the Chiltern Hills at 852ft, offering sweeping views of the Aylesbury Vale. Continue over Beacon Hill before following the Ridgeway into Wendover Woods and Tring Park, part of the historic Rothschild estate and home to fascinating follies. Overnight on a gorgeous market town with great restaurants, cafes and a cosy art-deco cinema.

  • Day 2: Start along the Grand Union Canal, then ascend into the ancient Ashridge Forest, where towering trees and serene trails create a magical walking experience, complete with a well-earned cake stop. Follow the Ridgeway trail along chalk ridges and through undulating woodlands before reaching the iconic Ivinghoe Beacon, where panoramic views reward your journey.
